Course Objectives Realizing the impossibility of approaching production and organization of space independent of the process of social change, investigating the processes of spatial change in the urban and architecture area as based on social structure / change.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Reflects the knowledge that s/he acquires by reading and observing to the academic context.
  • Reflects the theoretical knowledge in the field of spatial analysis that s/he acquires during the course to practice.
  • Conceives the social structure and space relationship independently and/or at an interdisciplinary basis.
  • Makes research at urban and architectural scales, interprets the results.
  • Makes a potant presentation which unites theoretical knowledge with the subject of research.
Course Content Relation of the urban and architectural domain and the production and organization of space with the social structure and social change; comparison of the changes in Turkey and the West in the urban and architectural domain within historical process and specifically in terms of spatial processes as based on social relations; readings from books and related films.
