Course Objectives Discussion of the changes of cultural and social life in the cities in daily life, investigation of the effects of the culture's areas of interaction throughout the social change period on housing design, instruction of the students to form a certain level of vision about these subjects by scrutinizing these changes from housing-user point of view.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • acquires a general level of knowledge about the culture-space-housing relation interaction and the reflections of these interactions
  • can think and discuss critically about the content of the course;
  • gains the practical experience to apply the course information to studio works;
  • gains skill in performing field work, research and presentation of written documentation on works performed.
Course Content Spatial and functional characteristics of the house based on the interaction between the house and everyday life; investigation of housing ? culture and identity relations through research done through users of housings with different characteristics and user profiles .
