Course Objectives Learning the development of settlements since the Neolithic period; distinguishing periodic properties of spaces; to gain the consciousness of protection of historic cities
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • -Learn the development of spatial formation in cities in historical process -Obtains consciousness of protection of historic cities -Comprehend urban archeology and its importance -Understands the importance of urban archeology -it reinforces the consciousness of our geography in terms of architecture and city history - Learn the international protection dimension of historical cities with examples - Has knowledge about socio-economic problems and sustainability in historic cities.
Course Content Founding and development of the historic cities in Anatolia as connected with the topography; the changes undergone since Antique Period with the perspectives of socio-cultural and natural factors, and urban history, architectural and art history; excursions to selected historic cities to study period characteristics.
