Course Objectives To enable the acquisition of the skill for computing visual images at an advanced level using Autodesk 3ds MAX and V-Ray programs for architectural visualization.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students who accomplish this course gain the ability to prepare three-dimensional digital models that will accurately express their architectural ideas in the virtual media, to render materials, to use light and camera, to do computational seetings, and to save outputs
Course Content Visualization of architectural designs with the help of computer programs.

Weekly Subjects and Releated Preparation Studies

1 Introduction to V-Ray
2 Relation between 3ds MAX and V-Ray, installations and program settings
3 Initial step in rendering a scene simply, acquaintance with light, camera, material concepts
4 Use of readily given materials, object-material relation and definition of coating coordinate
5 Call of auxiliary models to the scene, positioning and identification
6 Light and camera types, parameters and advanced characteristics
7 Other necessary elements in rendering scene and concept of surroundings
8 Settings prior to computation, obtaining and saving outputs
9 Mid-Term
10 General review of scene rendering at basic level. Frequently faced problems and their solutions
11 Rendering materials and advanced knowledge of materials
12 Types of light and advanced lighting techniques
13 Rendering of different scenes and approaches to their computation
14 The use of the knowledge attained by exemplar practices in integrated scenes
