Course Objectives The main objective of this course is to describe the revolutionist approaches in art and design world that was started in the 19th century Europe and America. Since the ideas and the contemporary art movements were occurred under the light of those revolutionist approaches, the historical background is crucial for this course. Analyzing of these art movements is beneficial for the design students in their projects.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To discuss the ideas of the 19th and 20th centuries art movements
  • To identify the contemporary art movements and the artists who gave works on these movements
  • To evaluate and understand the relations amongst these moveme
Course Content Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop-Art movements and the representatives of these movements and their works.
