Course Objectives To analyze Shakespearean tragedy and history plays in dramatic, cultural, and historical contexts.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • know the different dramatic genres in the Shakespearean canon
  • know Shakespeare's tragedies
  • can analyze Shakespeare's tragedies
  • have knowledge on early-modern English theatre
  • have knowledge on the historical and cultural background of the era in which Shakespeare lived and produced.
  • know tragedy as a genre
