Course Objectives The objective of this course is to teach students how to read and to comprehend scientific and technical texts and to develop their skills of translating these documents from the source language to the target language. Furthermore, the students will also learn the terminology of various subjects in science and technology.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will understand the scientific and technical texts in English.
  • Will learn the format and structure of certain technical documents.
  • Will improve the translation skills in technical and scientific documents.
  • Will improve the terminology knowledge in the fields of science and technology.
Course Content The nature of technical and scientific documents; the steps of technical translation; research and terminology studies on contemporary technical subjects; translating and editing the texts in the light of current methodologies.
