*Completing the Thesis Data Entry Form

First, an e-Government (e-Devlet) password must be obtained from a PTT branch.

The Thesis Automation System can be accessed through the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) National Thesis Center using e-Government (e-Devlet) credentials.

The Thesis Data Entry Form is a document containing the title of the thesis, the author’s name, reference number, and other bibliographic information. The form is designed to transfer the information entered by the student to a temporary table linked to the National Thesis Center Database. Once the form has been completed and the “Save” button has been clicked, a system-generated “Reference Number” is assigned. This reference number is used during the review and verification procedures conducted by the National Thesis Center.

Thesis titles and abstract pages: These are uploaded to searchable fields within the Thesis Database. Therefore, text entered into these fields should not contain italic typeface, tables, figures, graphs, chemical or mathematical formulas, symbols, subscripts or superscripts, Greek letters, or other non-standard symbols or characters.

The Department and Division should be selected from the drop-down lists. If an appropriate option is not available, these fields may be left blank.

Index terms are an alphabetical list of keywords that provide direct access to theses searched in the National Thesis Center Database.

If a proposed index term is not included in the index terms list, the keyword suggested by the author should be entered in this field in the format Turkish = English.

The thesis abstract must be prepared in two languages, one of which must be Turkish, and must not exceed 250 words.

**Preparation of Compact Discs (CDs)

The thesis to be submitted to the National Thesis Center for electronic access must be prepared as a single PDF file. The PDF file must be identical to the copy of the thesis approved by the Graduate School/Faculty. The author is responsible for ensuring that page numbering and the placement of images, figures, graphs, tables, and other elements within the main text are identical to those in the printed version of the thesis.

The file containing the full text of the thesis must be uncompressed and password-free. Appendices must be submitted as a compressed file in the format referenceno.RAR.

Thesis appendices prepared in text format or reproduced as photocopies must be included in the PDF file containing the full text of the thesis. Documents may be converted to PDF format using a scanner or digital photocopier for this purpose.

If the thesis contains images, maps, computer programs, video files, or audio recordings, these files must be combined into a single compressed file using the reference number as the file name (referenceno.RAR) and saved on the CD.

Files on the CD must be named using the reference number provided on the Thesis Data Entry Form.

Example:

Full text: referenceno.pdf
Appendices: referenceno.rar
