Course Objectives The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with Contemporary British Fiction with reference to British culture.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • will be able to study the key themes and concerns of 20th and 21st centuries in fiction (nationality, ethnicity, postcolonialism etc..)
  • will be able to understand political, social and cultural developments of the 20th and 21st centuries,
  • will develop the skill of close reading of novels with special attention to language, form and structure,
  • will be able to analyze theoretical, cultural, historical, social, political context of selected novels,
  • will be able to develop the kill for analysis and synthesis.
Course Content Study of selected contemporary novels through contemporary literary movements and theories.
