Course Objectives This course aims to analyze the relationship between migration and politics in the light of contemporary debates by considering theoretical discussions on the concept of migration.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Get familiar with the theoretical debates on the concept of migration and develop an approach that synthesizes theory and practice
  • Analyze the relationship of migration with other related concepts such as citizenship, gender, family, and social cohesion.
Course Content The concept of migration in the light of classic and modern migration theories and concepts related to international migration; the relationship of migration with other related concepts such as citizenship, gender, family, and social cohesion; the role of nation-states, international organizations and nongovernmental organizations on migration politics; historical analysis of Turkey?s migration politics and contemporary migration flows.
