| Course Objectives | This course examines the process of producing social scientific knowledge by transcending the theory-method distinction, focusing instead on research “methodology” and practices of reasoning. Rather than adhering to the traditional theory-method distinction, it develops a holistic understanding of the art of doing social science. By analyzing the actual working practices and research processes of major social scientists, it reveals the epistemological foundations of social scientific thought. |
