Course Objectives To design for supporting creative and practical studies that structure the visual field and develop cognitive processes in the area of design, organize the sensation and emotional data, comment and connect the talent of giving meaning to the events with the psychological elements in the perception process
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Know and use the fundamental concepts of psychology
  • State the Gestalt theory
  • Tell the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that affect the perceptual process
  • Show behaviors that are related with creative sensation and develop visual memory
Course Content Illustration of the logic; color and layer properties, such as texture and lighting effects with different information; freelance illustration, different approaches.

2 Programs used in numerical illustration – Adobe Illustrator CS
3 Adobe Illustrator – Toolbar, applications
4 Adobe Illustrator – Menus, applications
5 Adobe Illustrator – Panels, applications
6 Project application 1: Object drawing and coloring through “tracing” on photo
7 Midterm
8 Project application 2: Character creation and sketches
9 Transferring the sketches to computer environment and coloring the sketches
10 Project 3: For a selected Graphic product, making numerical illustrations in line with concept (minimum 3 drawings)
11 Project 3: Sketches and transferring to numerical environment
12 Project 3: Corrections and finalizing
13 Final Project: Numerically illustrating a space photo and using it on Graphic design product (banner, brochure etc.)
14 Evaluation of the results- presentation Students are led to do research by giving the next topic at the end of each lesson.
