Course Objectives This course aims that the student experiences in person how the theoretical information obtained in automotive engineering area is realized in real industrial life through proper applications, that they improve their team work skills, that they enhance their knowledge, experience, etiquette within a genuine working environment, that they appreciate the importance of continuous learning and improve themselves, that they find out the subfields of interest in their own major area, that they excel at oral and written communication skills, and that they acquire the skill of reporting their knowledge and experience that they obtained during their summer practice. Although it is not mandatory, the student is expected to spend their second summer practice in the administration/management department of a factory/company.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • lived through, experienced, and observed an industrial environment,
  • differentiated the details in the duties and responsibilities of an automotive engineer,
  • been familiar with, applied, and used the production/manufacturing/service methods that were made use of or developed in the factory or company where they spend their summer practice time,
  • taken part in the projects that involve real problems in industry, conducted them, so improved their experience, and
  • written as a report their knowledge and experience that they obtained during their summer practice.
Course Content A 4-week (20-workday) second summer practice (1) in an automotive/vehicle company [service, factory, management office], or in a facility that manufactures an industrial product/outfit/output/product, and (2) about a product design or manufacturing, or about the administration or organization of a service/company.
