Course Objectives The purpose of this course; to provide students with information about the historical development of nursing, ethical concepts and principles related to nursing, ethical problems, laws and regulations related to nursing.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Know and interpret the historical development and legal aspects of nursing.
  • Defines the concepts of ethics.
  • Explain ethical theories.
  • Ratiocinate to solve ethical dilemmas and problems.
  • Knows the ethical problems that may occur according to the life periods.
  • Explains the responsibilities of the nurse in ethical problems that may occur according to the life periods.
  • Produces solutions for ethical problems in the application environment.
Course Content Historical development and legal dimension of nursing, ethical concepts, ethical theories, ethical dilemma and ethical problem concepts, ethical evaluation and ethical reasoning processes, ethical problems according to life periods and nurse's responsibilities, ethical problems in application environment
