Course Objectives The aim of this course is; nursing department students should be informed about the general pathology and to understand the changes that occur in organs, tissues and cells in disease.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Has knowledge about the definition and techniques of pathology.
  • Can assess the harmonics responses of cells and the general mechanisms of cellular injury.
  • Knowledge about stem cell concepts, cellular proliferation mechanisms and tissue regeneration.
  • Defines general characteristics of infectious and genetic diseases.
  • Has knowledge about tumor naming and carcinogenesis.
Course Content Definition of pathology, methods and techniques used in pathology, cellular adaptation mechanisms, stem cell, cellular damage mechanisms, necrosis, apoptosis, inflammation and wound healing, immunopathology, infectious diseases, epidemiology, genetic diseases, hemodynamic disorders, neoplasia.
