Course Objectives The aim of this course is to enable the students to have theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Internal Medicine Nursing, to use the nursing process with a holistic and systematic approach, to apply nursing care, to carry out training and counseling roles, to collaborate with the health team and to think critically.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Has theoretical and practical knowledge of internal medicine nursing.
  • Maintain and records the effects of internal nursing care using theoretical, evidence-based and practical knowledge in the field of nursing, using a holistic and systematic approach using the nursing process.
  • Perform training and consulting roles for individual, family and society
  • Perform training and consulting roles for individual, family and society
  • Uses informatics and maintenance technologies in areas of nurse's activity (education, practice, research and management).
  • Cooperate with the health team and other disciplines.
  • Act in accordance with regulations, professional values and ethical principles.
  • Use critical thinking skills and a scientific problem-solving approach in personal and professional activity areas.
Course Content Internal medicine nursing and its place in primary health care services, liquid electrolyte / acid base balance, shock and nursing care, endocrine system, respiratory system, heart and circulatory system, nervous system, digestive system, urinary system diseases and nursing care, allergic diseases, joint diseases and nursing care, bed-dependent patient care, geriatrics and oncology nursing.
