Course Objectives The aim of this course is; to enable students to evaluate, examine and do nursing intervention the normal growth and development characteristics and health deviations according to the systems in the period of 0-18 years on holistic nursing approach.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Identifies the main child health problems, child health indicators, and factors affecting child health worldwide and in specified countries.
  • Evaluates the growth and development process and the factors that may affect this process
  • : Discusses the role and functions of the nurse in preventing and promoting child health
  • Uses information about the principles of growth and development and expected transitions in the care of pediatric patients from infancy to adolescence
Course Content Child health problems in Turkey, growth and development according to ages, pediatric screenings, vaccinations and drug applications, normal newborn, high risk newborn,liquid / electrolyte imbalances, accident and poisoning, diseases of body systems in childhood and nursing care, oncological diseases, blood diseases and mental problems in children, high risk child and family.
