Course Objectives The aim of this course is; to understand the place and importance of complementary and alternative treatment methods of the student in nursing and patient care.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Has knowledge about alternative and complementary therapies.
  • Evaluates the effects of alternative and complementary treatments on patient health.
  • Examines scientific studies on alternative and complementary therapies and explores the benefits and side effects of these methods.
Course Content Alternative and complementary treatment definition and history, mind-body based practices, manipulative-body-based applications, energy-based applications, biologically based applications, ethical and legal aspects of alternative and complementary therapies, role of nurse in alternative and complementary therapies, complementary therapies in nursing research.
