Course Objectives This course aims to understand and perform pure tone and speech tests in pure tone audiometry, to count and apply masking rules, to interpret the results of behavioral tests.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Before starting the audiological examination, they can perform maintenance and daily listening and calibration control of the test environment and the equipment they will use.
  • Learn to take history, perform physical and otoscopic examination, and apply diapason tests in audiologic evaluation.
  • Plan the tests according to the complaint and preliminary diagnosis.
  • Perform pure tone threshold and speech tests, interpret the results and write the report.
  • Know the principles of mask use in audiologic evaluation and decide whether a mask is required during the test.
  • Tell the usage areas and purposes of behavioral tests used in audiological examination and interpret the results.
Course Content Behavioral tests used in the diagnosis of peripheral and central pathologies in children and adults, evaluation principles and methods, giving results and reporting techniques.
