Course Objectives This course aims to know the basic concepts of genetics, to define syndromic and non-syndromic hearing loss and to understand the importance of genetic counseling.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Define basic genetic transition characteristics.
  • Describe the characteristics of genetically inherited hearing loss diseases.
  • Describe congenital hearing loss without genetic inheritance.
  • Explain syndromic hearing losses.
  • Explain the risk factors for hearing loss.
Course Content Basic concepts of and terminology related to modes of inheritance and the influence of genetic factors in causing hearing loss.
