Course Objectives Lifespan Development course aims to understand, define and examine the factors affecting the development process of human beings from prenatal development to death.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explains and compare basic theories of development.
  • Understands the biological and environmental bases of development; evaluates the interaction between them.
  • Explains prenatal development and its importance.
  • Explains the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of human beings during infancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
  • Recognizes the concepts related to death as the end of life, recognizes the mechanisms of coping with grief.
Course Content Genetic foundations of life; Prenatal and early infancy development; Physical, cognitive, emotional and social development in infancy, early, middle and late childhood; Adolescence, young, middle and late adulthood; End of life and death concept.
