Course Objectives The aim of this course is to gain the necessary knowledge and skills for patient and family counseling in hearing loss.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Describe and discuss the practical application, aims, ethical and legal issues associated with counseling in hearing loss.
  • Describes the importance of self-assessment and self-study methods, interpersonal relationships necessary for effective counseling and the quality of these relationships
  • Compare current counseling theories and methods in hearing loss.
  • Recognize the factors affecting counseling (culture, age, gender, time, religion, emotional reactions and defense mechanisms of the patient and relatives) and provide appropriate services
  • Adopt and use appropriate counseling approach for different groups with hearing loss
Course Content Definition of counseling and counseling theories, communication skills and ways, recognizing the family, revealing what to do for a solution.
