Course Objectives The aim of this course is to gain knowledge about basic acoustic and phonetic concepts and their role in the use of voice and breath.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Define the basic concepts of articulatory, acoustic, auditory, clinical and forensic phonetics
  • Learn the principles and applications of articulatory, acoustic, auditory, clinical and forensic phonetics
  • Understands the use and importance of articulatory, acoustic, auditory, clinical and forensic phonetics in audiology
  • Learn the articulatory, acoustic and auditory properties of consonants and vowels in various languages
  • Gain familiarity with PRAAT, CLAN and CHILDES programs
Course Content Communication information, phonetics, language development rules, sound and speech organization, use of constants and vocals, use of breathing, resonance, professional voice use.
