Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide practical learning and application of current auditory rehabilitation approaches used in pediatric, adult and geriatric individuals in the field of auditory rehabilitation together with the theoretical foundations.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Distinguishes auditory rehabilitation needs in pediatric, adult and geriatric individuals.
  • Applies and interpret the assessment tools used in the auditory rehabilitation process.
  • Explains the contributions of technological support systems (cochlear implants, hearing aids, FM systems, etc.) to the rehabilitation process.
  • Plans and implements age-specific auditory training approaches.
  • Plans family-centered and multidisciplinary rehabilitation models on a case-by-case basis.
Course Content Definition, scope and importance of auditory rehabilitation; special needs of auditory rehabilitation in individuals of different age groups (infant, child, adult, elderly); supporting auditory education in individuals using hearing aids, cochlear implants and other assistive devices; supporting speech-reading-language skills; family education and counseling; the importance of multidisciplinary approach and applied case studies.
