Course Objectives Making a major contribution to architectural design with’landscape design’s’ different occupation discipline. In addition, for solving problems with the understanding environmental issues by opening a new window for the architecture.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • -Knows the domain of landscape design in architecture, its field of work and scope in architectural design; -Becomes aware of relationships between the professional field of landscape design in architecture with the professional fields of architecture and engineering; -Environmental consciousness of the student increases; -Recognizes the materials used for structural and floral landscape in outdoor space; -Learns about the urban outdoor furniture and their use in design; -Understands the importance of establishing correct relationships between the environment and built forms.
Course Content Main concepts that provide integration of landscape design with architectural design.

Weekly Subjects and Releated Preparation Studies

1 Introduction to course, content, format, method, design topic; selecting the design area; and giving information about the design area.
2 Introduction to landscape architecture and its working areas. Design critics (house garden project). Assignment-1: House gardening and design
3 Evaluation of landscape design methods and landscape brands. Design critics(house garden project). Assignment-2: Mass Housing and design
4 Introduction to basic landscape design stages and criterias. Design critics(house garden project).
5 Basic landscape stages and criterias. Design critics (mass housing landscape design).
6 Presenting of usage of plant and construction materials,Design critics (mass housing landscape design). Assignment-3: Facility Areas and Parking Lot Design
7 Provide observing experience to students and studying about the relationship between planting composition, construction and spatial scenarios by going a field trip to a site, which includes well-designed construction and plant material varieties.
8 Landscape design criterias and interdisciplinary interaction areas. Design critics (mass housing landscape design).
