Course Objectives 1- Understanding the development of the concepts of trade and market in the course of time and its influence on physical development of city, 2- Recognizing the formations and designs of space in various functions related to trade, 3- Gaining ability to compare them with current trade structures and environment
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • -learn the relationship of city and trading spaces as of the ancient period within the scope of historical process and geography.
  • -comprehend the factors influencing the space structure of Anatolian-Turkish city and the functional development which the change of these factors created in trading spaces and their environment.
  • -understand how a connection can be established between the trading spaces and structures of a modern city and their historical background.
  • -gain consciousness about the protection of these spaces within the urban fabric.
  • -learn about the development of European cities especially related to Anatolia and trade.
