Course Objectives This course aims at enabling students to analyse sample poems in English literature with reference to some chosen themes and topics. A variety of poems will be studied in terms of such themes as childhood, death, nature, war, love and so on.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • gain knowledge on certain themes employed in different poetic movements in English poetry,
  • improve their ability to read, appreciate and analyse different poetic movements with reference to some chosen themes and topics.
Course Content The study of the British poets.
