Anti-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy

The Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment policy of Atılım University reflects our commitment to prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, based on a protected classification, including race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information.  All members of   the university community are responsible for creating a campus environment free from prohibited discrimination and harassment in the sense of cooperating with university officials who investigate allegations of policy violations.

Atılım University believes in maintaining a safe higher education environment in which its schools, students, administrators, and staff members are safe, may be trusted, and may count on others to be trustworthy and receive and extend to others respect as human beings. Indeed, mutual respect among faculty members, students, staff members, and administrators is an essential ingredient in the educational process and the greatest care must be exercised that it not in any way be eroded.

Scope of Policy

This policy is inclusive of all members of Atılım University and applies to all applicants, students, and employees, and prohibits harassment whether engaged in by a fellow student or employee, a supervisor or manager, persons conducting business with or visiting the University, or any behaviors that take place at a university-sponsored event.

Policy Statement

The anti-Discrimination policy is designed to no person will be denied employment, admission, or educational opportunity, or otherwise be discriminated against or harassed in the programs or activities of the University based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, personal appearance, family responsibilities, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, or any other basis protected by the legal law. The Anti-Harassment Policy is designed to ensure that all members of our university community are able to work and study in an environment free from harassment of any kind. Harassment includes but is not limited to verbal, written, visual, or physical conduct that creates an   intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for individuals or groups based on their protected characteristics. Harassment may take various forms, such as offensive jokes, slurs, derogatory comments, gestures, or any unwelcome conduct that targets individuals or groups.
