Course Objectives To understand fundamental requirement and needs of canal and pipe Irrigation and drainage systems, and learn how to design pipe irrigation and drainage systems.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students can determine irrigation water requirement by computing consumptive water requirement and determine irrigation modules for the irrigation field
  • Students can determine irrigation water requirement by computing consumptive water requirement.
  • Students can learns how to design open conveyance canal and how to design sprinkler pipe irrigation system and drop irrigation system by using uniform flow approach
  • Students can determine hydraulic parameters for designing open canals for irrigation and drainage for uniform and flows conditions in open channels and pipeline
Course Content Determination of irrigation module for the irrigation field, determination of irrigation water discharge, uniform flow in open canals, uniform flow in pipeline, open canal design, pipe irrigation system design.
