Course Objectives To explain the complex structure of visual communication evaluating its historical background. In this context, to have theoretical knowledge to be able to evaluate visual experience and signification. To evaluate social, cultural, ideological and institutional contexts which help us to make sense of all kinds of visual communication. To understand different reception processes and related factors. To perceive the communicative properties of basic design principles.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Evaluates concepts and theories of semiotics
  • Solves relationship between codes of visual culture and of communication
  • Analyzes the form and content of the design product
  • Solves shifts in meaning between past and present
