Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the status of women within the context of gender roles, the factors determining this status, and the impact of gender inequalities on women's health; thereby strengthening the societal and professional responsibility towards improving women's health.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • LO1. Discuss the concepts of biological and social gender.
  • LO2. Analyze indicators related to the status of women in the world and in Turkey.
  • LO3. Identify the factors that influence the status of women.
  • LO4. Explain the health issues faced by women due to gender.
  • LO5. Evaluate the position of women in international agreements.
Course Content The role of gender in the protection and development of individual health, the causes of gender inequality, the effects of gender on individuals and society.
