Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide nursing students with basic knowledge and skills regarding neonatal care, to teach the scientific basis of nursing practice in this field, and to guide them in clinical decision-making processes regarding the management of diseases in the neonatal period.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students who successfully completed this course, will be able to, LO1: Can define the basic concepts and methods of qualitative research. LO2: Gains competence in using qualitative research techniques in nursing research. LO3: Develops skills in collecting, analyzing and interpreting qualitative data. LO4: Can critically evaluate qualitative research in the literature. LO5: Learns the process of reporting and sharing results in qualitative research.
Course Content The state of newborn health in the world and in Turkey, the organization of newborn units, pharmacological principles and drug applications in the newborn, embryonal and fetal development, first aid in the delivery room with non-uterine adaptation, assessment of the newborn, nursing care of the newborn, evaluation of high risk newborn, nursing care of high risk newborn, neonatal diseases and care.
