ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

The athletic scholarship is an opportunity for students to represent Atılım University in sports, while prioritizing their academic achievements. The branches of sports to qualify, as well as the scope, and the conditions regarding the athletic scholarship are determined at the beginning of each year. Please contact the Management Office of Sports for details.

Athletic Scholarship:

1) Constitutes a discount awarded to students participating in competitions on behalf of the University and in the athletic fields where the University competes.

2) Students who intend to receive our athletic scholarship are required to present complete information on all competitions, achievements and degrees they have achieved at national and international levels in their branches using our Online Application Form. 

3) Eligibility for the athletic discount depends primarily on the student's academic success, and then, their active participation on the university team in their respective field, and their representation of the university.

The branches and athletes eligible for the discount are determined upon the recommendation of the Management Office of Sports and the Directorate of Social Affairs and Sports, the opinion of the Presidency, and the approval of the Board of Trustees.
The scholarship is valid for one academic year only and does not automatically entitle students to subsequent years.

4) For the discount to continue in the year following the academic year in which it was granted:

• Students taking English Preparatory education are required to successfully complete the preparatory stage in their first year and start the courses of their actual department,
• Students in their actual department are required to exhibit a minimum academic GPA of 2.00 at the end of the academic year.

5) To keep their athletic scholarship, students are required to exhibit the following conditions:

• Participation in all team activities, including training, matches, competitions, meetings, etc., throughout the relevant academic year, except when a valid excuse for non-participation is the case,
• Not engaging in any behavior that violates the Athlete’s Code of Ethics of Atılım University.
  Otherwise, the student's relationship with the team will be terminated by the decision of the Atılım University Ethics Committee for Sports Activities.

6) In cases where the situations of Article 5 take place:

The athletic discount ends upon the Ethics Committee resolution that the student is dismissed from the team.

In this case, the student is obligated to immediately pay the university any tuition fees not paid at the discounted rate for the relevant academic semester.

If payment is not made, the student will be subject to action in accordance with the provisions applicable to students who have not registered, in accordance with the Atılım University Regulations on Associate and Undergraduate Degree Education and Examination.

Documents Required for Athletic Scholarship Applications:

• The candidate's athletic resume and record of achievements,
• Contact information,
• Athlete information form obtained from the Sports Information System,
• Reference letter from the trainer of the applicant,
• Reference letter from the sports club of the applicant,
• National athlete certificate (if applicable),
• Other supporting documents about the athlete (photographs, trophies and medals, press coverage, individual or team photos, etc.)

Application Results:

Candidates are notified by phone two days before the submission date of their YKS preference rankings whether they have been allocated an athlete discount.

Training Tryouts for the Athletic Scholarship

For prospective students applying for an Athletic Discount from our university during the Academic Year of 2025 - 2026, tryout sessions will be held in the branches and on the dates specified below.

Candidates wishing to participate in the sessions must present to the Atılım University Gym with their sports equipment on the specified dates.

Tryouts will be only in the branches listed below. Candidates who complete the online application process are required to attend the designated tryout session for the sport they are applying for.

The applications by candidates not participating in tryouts shall be annulled.

For sports other than those specified, evaluation will be based on the documents candidates upload to the online system.
