Course Objectives This course provides an overview of types of audio-visual translation such as subtitling, dubbing, voiceover, etc. The course aims to equip the students with the necessary techniques and technologies not only by providing theoretical approaches to audio-visual translation but also hands-on training through translation exercises from English into Turkish.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • • learn types of audio-visual translation
  • • demonstrate an understanding of different theoretical approaches to audio-visual translation
  • • describe the technical issues, basic rules and different steps of the translation process
  • • acquired knowledge about the necessary techniques and technology in dubbing and subtitling
  • • translate audio-visual materials from different sources from English into Turkish
