ECTS - - Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Our department was founded in 2004 with the objective of graduating engineers who have strong knowledge about metals, ceramics, polymers and composite materials and who can apply this knowledge to the solution of engineering problems. The curriculum was designed in such a way as to set forth principles subjacent to all materials and to examine properties of materials and processes about materials on the basis of these principles. Class work is supported by laboratory studies and individual and/or team-work projects. Third and fourth year courses are directed to preparing students to their career. Students take material selection and graduation project courses in their fourth year. Various technical elective courses offered give students opportunity to gain advanced knowledge on subjects like advanced ceramics, bimaterials, nanomaterials etc. With two compulsory one-month period summer practices and several plant visits the students are given the chance to get to know their profession.
