Course Objectives Torts liability is a term which is regulated in Turkish Code of Obligations. Tort is a unlawful act which someone has a damage by anothers negligence. Law system regulates that if someone is the reason of the damage by its negligence, must be compensate the damage of the others. Thats why the tort liability’s purpose is to compensate the damage which can occur material or immaterial. The purpose of the lecture is knowing what torts liability is, who are responsible for the tort, which king of damages occur at the end of tort, how can we calculate the damage quantity, and if there is more than one person who are responsible for the tort how can the damage be compensated.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explain the conditions of tort
  • Solve legal dispute about negligence based torts liability.
  • Criticize legislation about negligence based torts liability
  • Offer suggestions for the development of legislation.
  • Give examples about negligence based torts liability
Course Content Tort liability, tort which means the liability with the negligence, differences between absolute liability, elements of the liability, types of damage, compensating the damage, the reasons of clipping casual relations, lapse of time.
