Course Objectives This internship aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to make a preliminary diagnosis with the results of the examination and to arrange the first treatment of surgical conditions affecting the thoracic region and to to guide patients correctly. During the internship, students will be introduced to various aspects of chest surgery, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment of thoracic diseases and conditions.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To be able to perform a complete thorax examination
  • To be able to make a preliminary diagnosis with the results of the examination and to arrange the first treatment
  • Being able to guide patients correctly
  • To be able to perform the necessary emergency intervention in thoracic injuries and to ensure that the patient is treated appropriately. to provide transport
Course Content This includes but is not limited to lung resections, thoracic trauma management, pleural diseases, esophageal disorders, mediastinal tumors, and congenital anomalies affecting the thoracic region. The program offers hands-on clinical experience, allowing students to actively participate in thoracic surgical procedures under the guidance of experienced chest surgeons.
