Course Objectives To discuss the processes of spatial chance in the field of city and architecture on the base of social change; to evaluate the production and organization of space in the framework of physical structuring as well as socio-economic and socio-cultural structuring.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students question and discuss the knowledge they gain from reading and reflect it in the academic setting.
  • Students gain the skill of carrying the knowledge that they acquire to different platforms of the field; establish the relationship between the social structure and space on an interdisciplinary scale.
  • Students gain the skill of carrying theoretical knowledge to urban and spatial practice.
  • Students do research on the scale of city and architecture and interpret the yielded results.
  • Students make effectual presentations combining their theoretical knowledge with the subject of study.
Course Content Changes in the field of architecture and city both in Turkey and in Europe; spatial transformations/changes and social relationships in the historical process; the terms of time and space, factors in spatial formation.
