Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills about the care and physical development of a healthy child and the factors affecting it, infectious and systemic diseases in childhood, ways of prevention and home care of sick children.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • He/she explains the basic concepts of Child Health and Diseases.
  • He/she explains children's diseases and general symptoms.
  • He/she explains the principles that should be done to protect health.
  • He/she defines the causes, risk factors, symptoms and ways of prevention of children's diseases.
  • He/she knows the types of immunity and the vaccination schedule.
Course Content Neonatal monitoring, child health monitoring, evaluation of growth in children, immune system and vaccines, adolescent health, common problems in pediatrics, emergency situations and first aid in pediatrics, infectious diseases and respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal system infections and parasitic diseases, anemias, rash diseases and specialty diseases principles of follow-up in children with needs.
