| Course Objectives | The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills on the special education of children at risk in during childhood (0-6 years), recognize children with special needs in professional practice, and direct them to the necessary institutions. |

| Course Content | Definition of special needs, terms related to special needs, history of special education in the world and in Turkey, opinions about special education, principles of special education, administrative regulations, classification in special education, causes of disability, prevalence of children with special needs, prevention and treatment inclusion, the place of people with disabilities in society; approach, assessment, support and orientation to special needs groups and families. |
