Course Objectives | This course deals with the question of why the concept of social movements has become so popular both in the world and in Turkey since the 1980s and especially in the 1990s, the state-society relationship, policy-making processes and the main debates on social movements that affect political institutions. Aiming to help students realize how our daily lives are actually intertwined with the phenomenon of politics rather than being stuck in a narrow definition of politics, trying to establish a connection between different social movements and the political and sociological phenomena that they reflect, the power relations of politics and the political and their origins. It is a course that claims to be shaped by inequality and conflict and aims to make it visible. |
