About the Department

The Department of Audiology was established within the Atılım Faculty of Health Sciences in 2021. Our four-year Audiology Undergraduate Programme aims to train students to work in the fields of hearing and balance science, and to practise audiology in clinical, experimental, industrial and rehabilitation settings.

The programme's objective:

• The programme aims to manage students to manage the steps involved in diagnosing, following up on, evaluating and rehabilitating hearing loss based on ethical principles and scientific evidence while considering public health.
• The programme aims to train audiologists who can contribute to scientific research in health and academic environments that benefit society, and who can take preventive measures to protect hearing health.
• The programme aims to train audiologists who are well-equipped with scientific, evidence-based questioning and research skills, as well as high application skills in the evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of balance system diseases and all hearing and balance system problems.

Mission

The Department of Audiology aims to provide students and the public with the highest standards of information, clinical services and research conditions to address hearing and balance problems as accurately as possible. The department also aims to instil the principles of audiology sciences in students, develop their professional reasoning and problem-solving skills, and train audiologists to the highest standard in healthcare and academic research.

The department aims to train competent audiologists who are familiar with their professional rights and responsibilities, adhere to ethical principles and are productive. It also aims to contribute to science and society by conducting original scientific research in the field of audiology, represent the profession, the university and the country at national and international levels, and serve humanity by contributing to public health.

Vision

The Department of Audiology aims to adopt the principle of public information and awareness, demonstrate national and international leadership qualities in evidence-based clinical education, utilise knowledge, contribute to science and work in a modern, independent manner in cooperation with a scientific, entrepreneurial spirit and an interdisciplinary approach.

As an education, training and research centre, we aim to contribute to the world of science by carrying our profession forward, taking part in the service sector with successful applications for public health, carrying out multidisciplinary studies with a teamwork spirit and being a reference in the scientific world through our scientific studies.
